Terms of Service

Last updated October 25, 2026

These terms explain how Blackframe works and what we expect from each other. By creating an account or downloading an asset, you agree to them.

Blackframe is a community library of plugins, LUTs, footage, sound and visual assets for video editors and colorists. Most of it is free. Blackframe Studio is an optional paid subscription for additional plugins and support.

You need a free account to download assets. Give us accurate information, keep your password private, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the service or other members at risk.

Every asset is shared by its creator, who is credited on the asset page together with a link to the origin. The creator's license, shown at the origin link, decides how you may use that asset. Check it before using an asset in a project.

Unless a creator's license says otherwise, please do not:

  • resell, redistribute or re-upload asset files;
  • remove or hide creator credit;
  • claim an asset as your own work.

Studio is billed monthly through Payhip. Payments, receipts and cancellation are handled in your Payhip account. We match your subscription to your Blackframe account by email address, so use the same email at checkout.

If you cancel, you keep Studio access until the end of the period you have paid for. Free assets stay free, with or without a subscription.

Don't misuse the service. In particular, don't:

  • try to bypass access controls, including to get Studio files without a subscription;
  • share your account or Studio downloads with people who don't have access;
  • send spam, malware or unlawful content through the site or contact form;
  • overload or interfere with the service.

If you believe an asset on Blackframe infringes your rights, see our Copyright & Takedowns page for how to send us a notice.

Assets and the service are provided "as is". We can't promise that every asset works with every version of every editor or operating system. Back up your projects and test assets before using them on client work.

To the extent the law allows, Blackframe and its contributors are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service or the assets.

We may update these terms as Blackframe grows. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the service after a change, you accept the updated terms.
