We collect as little personal data as we need to run Blackframe. This page explains what that is and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
- Account details: your name and email address, and a password that is stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider.
- Subscription details: the email you used at Payhip checkout, so we can match your subscription to your account. We never see your card details; Payhip handles payment.
- Messages: what you send through the contact form.
- Download activity: which assets were downloaded, used for download counts and to enforce access to Studio files.
- Technical data: standard server logs such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, kept for security and troubleshooting.
How we use it
- to run your account and let you download assets;
- to give Studio subscribers access to Studio files;
- to answer your messages and support requests;
- to keep the service secure and fix problems.
Cookies and local storage
Blackframe stores your light/dark theme choice in your browser's local storage. When you sign in, we also use a session cookie so you stay signed in. We don't use advertising cookies.
Who we share data with
We use a small number of service providers to operate Blackframe: a hosting provider, an authentication and database provider, Payhip for payments, and Google Fonts for typefaces. Some asset pages embed YouTube tutorials using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode; YouTube may set its own cookies once you press play.
We don't sell your personal data. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep account data while your account is open. Contact messages are kept as long as needed to deal with your request. Server logs are kept for a limited time.
Your choices
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, including closing your account. Send the request through the contact page from the email address on your account so we can verify it is you.
Children
Blackframe is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes
We'll update this page when our practices change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
